Monroe is back in the starting XI after missing the whole of last season.

There are plenty of young players who could benefit from a fresh start, but Lyon will also be forced to make some tough decisions, such as keeping hold of Lyon centre-back Thiago Motta and midfielder Jean-Baptiste Bailly, as well as midfielder Maxime Gonalons, as the season wears on.
Injuries will be a major concern in 2018, with Lyon having to rely on young defenders to step up.
