A man who appeared on a video encouraging young people to “stop hating” Donald Trump has been arrested on child pornography charges.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Michael T. Pemberton, 50, of Huntington Beach, California, appeared on an episode of the anti-Trump YouTube channel, “Stop Hate” in September.
“I have a message for all of you, Donald Trump is a racist,” Pembert said on the video.
“He has called women fat pigs, slobs and dogs.
He has made sexual assaults against women, children and other vulnerable people a national joke.
He should not be president.”
Pemberton was booked into the Santa Ana County Jail on Wednesday and was released on his own recognizance, according to a news release.
The video has over 14 million views and has been viewed more than 3.5 million times.
The man who appears on the clip, also known as “Hate Jesus,” said that his goal is to stop “hate speech,” according to the sheriff’s department.
“We are not afraid to stand up for what is right,” Pender said in the video, which he posted on YouTube in December.
“We are standing up for those who are being oppressed.
We are standing for justice and we are standing together against hate and bigotry.
Stop hate is why we’re standing up to hate and to protect people.””
Stop hate is what we do every day.
Stop hate is why we’re standing up to hate and to protect people.”
Pender was arrested in California in October for child pornography possession, but the sheriff said that the child porn was unrelated to the Pembertons alleged involvement in the hate video.
