Disney has pulled the plug on a plan to teach young people how to become more creative by giving them motivational quotes.
The theme park company announced Wednesday that it would be closing all of its theme parks in the U.S. by 2019, including Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
Disney CEO Bob Iger said the decision was “not a reflection of any desire to change our culture.”
Iger explained that Disney is “looking at all the opportunities and all the resources we have available to create a world of creative abundance and success.”
The company also said it would focus on creating a “focusing community” where young people can learn from the best in their field and work together to “make a better world.”
In addition, Disney is making “a major investment in the development of an online platform to foster a culture where innovation and creativity are valued,” according to a company blog post.
Iger also said that the company was “actively pursuing partnerships and partnerships with the worlds leading educational institutions and universities.”
