LeBron James is back in Cleveland and on a mission to keep the Cavs in the NBA Finals after they lost their first two games to the Golden State Warriors.
But the father of LeBron James said Wednesday he wants the Cavs to win the championship again, even if it means trading him and his wife, Kaitlyn.
James’ father, Michael, said he’s never felt like he’s a star before and believes the Cavs have the talent to make the playoffs.
“I feel like we’re going to have a chance, but we’re not going to get it,” James said.
“There’s a lot of people that want to get the Cavs back in the playoffs and we know that.
We’ve been through it before.
I just want them to get back in.
But if they don’t, then they’re going home.
If they do get it, then I don’t care what anyone says, I don-t care what anybody thinks.
I don and I want to win.”
James has never won an NBA title and has averaged just 26.7 points in four games against the Warriors.
He said he has a plan in place to help the Cavs win in a way that he can be a part of.
“It’s not a matter of me saying I’m going to take my talents and talents to the next level, it’s a matter that’s just a matter for me to get better,” James told reporters.
“So if they’re not winning, then what’s the point of me doing it?
It’s not for me.
It’s for myself.
I want them back.”
The Cavs are 3-5 on the season and the Warriors are 2-4 in the series.
James said he is focused on the future and not on the past.
